 Faith Marshall
Faith Marshall, a long time volunteer in the Houston community, will receive the Houston Chapter's highly esteemed Helene Susman Woman of Prominence Award at the chapter annual meeting on Thursday evening, May 21 at Congregation Beth Israel.  The Susman award is presented to a Jewish woman who devotes her life to family, career and volunteering in the community.  This year's committee, Co-Chaired by Sandy Block and Julia Mazow, included past award recipients Judge Ruby Sondock, Bobbie Samuels, Karol Musher and Joyce Gilbert.

Chairperson for this year's chapter annual meeting is Mina Sklar.

In addition to the Helene Susman award presentation, the evening will also include a governance/nominating committee report and a special program paying official tribute to Colonel Jose Arturo Castellanos, an El Salvadoran diplomat who saved more than 25,000 Jewish lives while serving in Geneva during WWII.   The 78 minute film,
Glass House, will make its Houston premier at the meeting,  Directed by Brad Marlowe and produced by Leonor Avila Marlowe and "which narrates the untold story of Salvadoran Diplomats and one of the most successful rescue operations of World War II," will be shown.  El Salvadoran Ambassador Ricardo Moran Ferracuti will also present "The Historic Document: Holocaust's Hero" during the annual meeting.  Ms. Marlowe and the Ambassador will participate in a panel discussion following the film.

The annual meeting will feature a kosher dessert reception at 6:30 pm and the program will begin at 7 pm.  Cost is $25 per person.  RSVP to Carol Heard, heardc@ajc.org by May 13th.
