AJC Condemns Spanish Newspaper's Despicable Portrayal of Holocaust Denier as "Expert"
AJC protested the decision of El Mundo, one of Spain's leading newspapers, to publish an interview with the notorious British Holocaust denier David Irving as part of its coverage of the 70th anniversary of the outbreak of World War II. "David Irving has made a career out of lying," said AJC. "For El Mundo to bill a Holocaust denier as an 'expert' and 'innovative thinker' heaps shame upon that newspaper." READ RELEASE

Urging U.S. Support for Preservation of Auschwitz-Birkenau
AJC is urging members of Congress to support a Congressional Letter to Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton circulated by Representative Luis V. Gutierrez, which calls on the Obama Administration to commit the American government to support the preservation and conservation of Auschwitz-Birkenau. Significant pledges from such major European nations as Germany, France, Great Britain, Poland, and from the European Union, have already been secured. "By providing tangible support for this initiative, America will signal determination to ensure that the Holocaust will never happen again and that education against hatred, bigotry, and genocide is at the top of our national priorities," wrote AJC.
