In summarizing AJC in 2009, David Harris, AJC's executive director, noted:
"Our global reach is unparalleled. In September alone, we held 75 separate meetings with presidents, prime ministers, and foreign ministers in New York for the opening of the UN General Assembly. And throughout the year, lay and staff leaders are on the road in Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East, meeting with top officials and community leaders to address the most compelling issues of the day.

"Our network of intergroup relationships continues to grow. With leaders in just about every significant faith group in the U.S. and around the world, and in just about every major ethnic group in this country, we have developed productive relations built on trust, friendship, and shared purpose, including in the legislative arena.

"Our voice within the Jewish community is heard loud and clear, as we affirm the importance of Israel-Diaspora relations, the need for mutual respect among denominations, and the urgency of a compelling and positive Jewish identity."

Best regards,

Randy Czarlinsky
