AJC is actively engaged in the domestic and international scene as a GLOBAL JEWISH ADVOCACY organization.
Thirty-three diplomats representing 29 countries of Houston's Consular Corps have confirmed their participation in our Consular Corps Luncheon on Feb. 25. Jason Isaacson, AJC's director of international and government affairs, will discuss "Challenges to Global Security".
Immigration Reform and Iran and the Middle East were the topics of two AJC led sessions at BJE's Yom Limmud. Charles Foster, of FosterQuan, and Stan Marek, of MarekBrothers, joined AJC's Barbara Shepard and Randy Czarlinsky to discuss immigration reform. Czarlinsky led a seminar on Iran and the Middle East.
Barbara Shepard met with Arturo Karakowsky, an alumnus of the AJC's Latin American Emerging Leaders program, to discuss AJC.
Randy Czarlinsky participated in the Consular Corps of Houston luncheon with Judge Jeff Moseley, president and CEO of the Greater Houston Partnership.
Richard Shaw, Barbara Shepard and Randy Czarlinsky participated in the recent Greater Houston Partnership Immigration Task Force discussions.
AJC's Bridging America Project task force roundtable discussions held its second of three conversations in Houston this week. The group, representing leaders from education, faith, ethnic, business, elected officials and law enforcement, began charting ways to advocate for immigration reform. The project is funded by the Ford Foundation.
Iran and immigration reform were the featured topics of discussion when AJC met with Congressman Ted Poe this week.
