ISRAEL: SHAPING THE FUTURE
The Monday, May 17 evening program presents Israeli technology and its impact in medicine, energy and hi tech in America.
 "Energy Security and Electric Vehicles" will the focus of the presentation by Michael Granoffof Better Place. Granoff is Head of Oil Independence Policies for Better Place since its 2007 founding. In that capacity Mr. Granoff helps stakeholders of all types to calibrate policies consistent with theBetter Place approach to ending the corrosive effect of oil dependence on economy, environment and security. Stakeholders Mr. Granoff works with include governments on every level, industry and current and future Better Place partners.
Other participants include Ilia Rosenberg of Boeing and Raphael Pollock of MD Anderson.
The evening program, which will be held at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas - Houston Branch, will also feature a reception with Israeli wines and the election of AJC Houston officers and board members. The program is being co-sponsored by Noble Energy and Greenberg Traurig, LLP.
Because of security at the Federal Reserve, pre-registration is required by Monday, May 10.

Members of the AJC Houston Governance Committee are reaching out to prospective board members. The Committee has nominated current president elect Jack Lascar to be AJC Houston Region president for 2010-2011.
Thank you to Charles Foster of FosterQuan and Stan Marek of Marek Brothers for getting together to discuss immigration and advocacy efforts.
A 12 person AJC Houston delegation, led by President Tracy Stein and President elect Jack Lascar, will attend AJC's national meeting in Washington at the end of the month. Besides participating in briefings at the meeting, AJC Houston will meet privately with Texas Senators, the Houston Congressional delegation, and former leader the Iranian revolution Mohsen Sazegara during the DC visit.
