Secretary Clinton, Israel Defense Minister Barak to Address AJC Annual Gala
U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Israel Defense Minister Ehud Barak will address AJC's Annual Gala on April 29 in Washington, D.C. Spanish Foreign Minister Miguel Moratinos and Dutch Minister of Foreign Affairs Maxime Verhagen also will speak that evening at the Grand Hyatt Hotel on the global challenges facing America and Europe. Moratinos is also President of the European Union.

ISRAEL: SHAPING THE FUTURE
The Monday, May 17 evening program for AJC Houston's 2010 Annual Meeting will be presenting Israeli technology and its impact in medicine, energy and hi tech in America. Participants include Michael Granoff of Better Place, Ilia Rosenberg of Boeing and Raphael Pollock of MD Anderson. 
The same evening, AJC Houston will also be presenting the first Schechter/Zeidman Jewish Teen Advocacy Award to an area High School student who has engaged in advocacy for Israel.  The award was created in honor of our City's own advocates Ambassador Arthur Schechter and Fred Zeidman.
The evening program, which will be held at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas - Houston Branch, will also feature a reception with Israeli wines and the election of AJC Houston officers and board members. The program is being co-sponsored by Noble Energy and Greenberg Traurig, LLP
Due to the security regulations at the Federal Reserve, pre-registration, including payment at $18 per person, must be received by the AJC office no later than Monday, May 10.

 AJC Annual Meeting

OUTREACH
 
AJC is actively engaged in the domestic and international scene as a GLOBAL JEWISH ADVOCACY organization. 
 
Thirteen members of Houston's Prebyterian-Jewish dialogue met this week at AJC to discuss the PC(USA) Middle East Study Committee's report that will be voted on at the Presbyterian's General Assembly this summer.  The group will reconvene in early May with proposed recommendations to reply to the troubling MESC report.  Participants from AJC included; David Barish, Nat Levy, Rabbi Steve Morgen and staff.
 
Jack Lascar hosted an AJC farewell and thank you reception for the Dean of the Houston Consular Corps, His Excellency Carlos Gonzalez Magallon of Mexico.  Attending were members of the AJC Mexican delegation team; Ann Kasman, Iris and Uri Mushin, Tracy Stein and Nat Levy. 
 
AJC staff and leadership participated in the Consulate of Israel's Yom Ha'atzmaut concert celebration.
